About Justinian

How to find out what’s really going on in the legal profession

Justinian is Australia's most revered and disturbing law journal. For nearly 40 years, with loving attention to detail, it has chronicled the exquisite finery and the dirty linen of the legal profession.

We report notorious instances of flair and fumbling at the bar, failures in judicial rectitude, secret correspondence from lofty sources and who is acting for whom and for how much.

Justinian is now published entirely on-line with new material posted at least every few days.

An annual subscription costs $395 a year – GST inclusive.

An recurring direct debit subscription is also available for $35 a month.

Subscribers also receive a weekly email with the latest news stories and commentary.

Access to our articles is by individual user-name and password.

The editor of Justinian is Richard Ackland, who has had 45 years experience in legal journalism.

He worked as a reporter on The Australian Financial Review, wrote the "Clancy" column for the old National Times, was the founding presenter of the hosted discussion show Late Night Live on ABC Radio National, presented the Radio National Breakfast show, wrote and presented ABC TV’s Media Watch, was a columnist for The Sydney Morning Herald and also now contributes to Guardian Australia and The Saturday Paper

He also publishes the leading on-line media law journal Gazette of Law & Journalism
